For almost 50 years, God has guided and blessed Midway Church. From our beginning, when a few families faithfully trusted and followed God, it’s clear God providentially placed Midway to expand His influence in our community. He has called Midway to share His love and the saving grace of Jesus.
Over the years, God has faithfully led our church through various projects – each designed to expand and promote our ability to impact people for eternity. Now it’s time for a strategic effort to GAIN GROUND – to maximize what God has provided to expand His influence in our community.
After years of anticipation, the wait is over, and a significant population change is rapidly happening now. Over the next 10 years, conservative estimates point to our community doubling within a 15-20 minute drive from Midway.
Midway has seen consistent attendance growth even prior to this boom. With the population trajectory, we anticipate accelerated influence as we reach outward with Jesus.

Strengthening the ministry base at Midway elevates our ability to share Jesus here and with the world. Our vision is about long-term kingdom capacity - using our property for internal life change with eternal impact.
A new Worship Center will provide a more intimate space to gather, glorify God, praise, pray, and be transformed by God’s Word! Capacity will increase to 1,250 seats - allowing for growth and varied community use. Worship space is not our greatest capacity constraint. However, a new Worship Center is key to the plan because it allows our current worship space to be converted for other purposes at a
fraction of the long-term cost and with better campus integration.

We are beginning to see capacity issues in the Preschool and Kidz areas. We will add at least 2,100 square feet and three additional classrooms. Expansion and renovations include: a large room for activities and worship, an expanded nursery to better serve infants and early walkers, widening hallways for better traffic flow, and a single check-in area for Preschool and Kidz to simplify life for families and elevate security even further.

Our most obvious capacity constraint is the lobby. There is significant congestion before, between, and after services. An expanded lobby will allow our already relational community to flourish. There will be room to grab some coffee, have a conversation, and connect with others in Christ. The plan almost triples the size of the current lobby, thanks in part to space taken from the current worship area.

Our main parking lot is gravel. It’s been a blessing, but it’s time to pave part of this lot. We will seek to cover as much as the budget allows! This will improve accessibility, reduce challenges during inclement weather, and hopefully include a nice green space through the middle. A covered drop-off area will help during poor weather and benefit those with physical needs.

The plan’s impact is appreciated in its future flexibility. The current worship space can be converted to multi-use classrooms, a warming kitchen for major events, and needed storage space. Restrooms can be expanded. We can create efficient administrative areas and add closer parking on the south end. All of this can be accomplished in an integrated way and without the high expense of additional buildings.
In the GAINING GROUND campaign, our goal is to raise $4.8M with three year commitments. The total estimated project cost is $11.5M, to be offset by significant savings the church has stewarded and a reasoned approach to financing.
There is always a cost in considering others. That can be finances given, talents or skills exhausted, time spent, preferences laid down – often all of these! This is a biblical principle reflected in our call to generosity in response to God’s generosity toward us.
For now, we ask that you please join us on Sunday, August 17th for a special readiness assessment. This is a brief, confidential survey to be held during service. It will help us evaluate our plans and get valuable feedback
